My P.S. (Personal Shopper/hubby) is up for kudos today. He made a pretty good meal for dinner last night. Let’s give him a pat on the back (and a ladylike burp)! In spite of the cool weather up North he grilled burgers outdoors. I unashamedly admit grilled burgers are my favorite meat. No steaks for me, I want mine ground and medium rare with mayo and add a slice of tomato.

Last night my P.S. even went so far as to pan fry onions and red pepper slices to top the burgers. Excellent way to kick up the flavors! He seared them in a pan with a little oil on medium heat until they begin to turn brown and caramelize.

He also made curried sweet potatoes as a side dish. I’ve posted them before here and mentioned that he loves them as much as I do. They’re fairly simple: mix demarara sugar, curry powder and salt together, then peel and slice the sweet potatoes. Dip the potatoes in the sugar mixture and fry in a little oil in a skillet, turning until browned on both sides. We love them quite dark and caramelized; it brings out the best flavor in the sweet potatoes.

Altogether it was an excellent meal, definitely preferable to having a fast food burger and fries. Our burger and fried sweet potato coins weren’t mass produced with unknown ingredients and were hot and tasty. Plus we got to eat them on trays on the couch watching our favorite shows on the big screen tv. Life is good when you have a P.S. that cooks.Tiara Logo
