Braising has become my new favorite food technique.  As much as I swore I’d never use the Dutch ovens my P.S. (Purchaser of Stew ware/ hubby) brought home, I find I like to throw stuff in them and see what results.  I still think Dutch ovens are super heavy to lift down from where they’re stored, and to wash them isn’t pleasant.  But the food coming out of them has been fabulous. I’d been toying with the idea of a sheet pan meal with sausage, cabbage and potatoes with a garlic Dijon sauce for awhile.  Having leftover cabbage from St Pat’s Day and buying fresh green beans at the grocery store was a bonus.  They all sounded like they could jump into the pan together and be friends.  The sauce would be the zingy bonus that tied them all together. Sausage, Cabbage and Noodles

It was a cooler summer day, rare since this year has seemed hotter than usual here up North.  I had cabbage and sausage and wanted a satisfying bowl of German comfort food.  I always assume anything made with noodles, cabbage, sausage, some bread cubes and a lot of butter is German.  It is definitely always comforting!  I’d found this recipe and was finally going to remove it from my ‘food to make’ bucket list.
