I’ve been very delinquent in posting our old family recipes.  Time to drag out the old favorites and make them again!  We enjoy the dishes, we just don’t remember to revisit them as often as I’d like.  I had a craving for Shoestring Salad the other day and made a point to buy shoestring potatoes and Miracle Whip.  We’re usually a mayo family but there are those salads such as this one and broccoli salad that require the change. I previously posted on my efforts to use up the fresh vegetables leftover from a graduation party my sister Linda hosted for their son, Jesse.  I’d cut up about 4000 vegetables and there were so many leftover she sent a gallon zippered bag home with me.  We ate them for several days but eventually had to cry “uncle”.  I discarded the cucumber slices and snow peas because they were no longer fresh. My sister Linda and her husband threw a graduation party for their son Jesse recently.  Of course she called me to come and help prep. I cut up about 4000 fresh vegetables (seriously) for a vegetable tray. I cut up cucumbers, broccoli, cauliflower, asparagus and celery, along with the snow peas, mini carrots, grape tomatoes. She had so much left over she sent me home with a gallon bag full of veggies. Can a person eat too many veggies? Continue reading
