I love asparagus. Hot or cold, it’s always a special treat. Around the holidays when it goes on sale I’m so there. My Dad used to love it as well. I taught him how to snap off the ends to remove the rubbery parts then fry it in a little butter or bacon grease until tender. Add salt and there’s your veg! You maybe remember that I’m intrigued by recipe titles that claim they are “Best”. Running across this tomato salad recipe that said it was “Killer” just made me giggle. That might be stretching it. Could tomato salad actually taste killer? I recently found a tomato cracker salad that was so good I now make it up regularly for lunch. I just had to try this new recipe to see if it would be another new way to binge on tomatoes.
I’m finally getting the last Christmas recipe posted from 2018. Although it’s not really a recipe, it was a cute idea that worked well. I like to do a sort of artwork crudité each year and this year was simply cherry tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, basil and black olives. I could have served it with a balsamic drizzle but my family isn’t big on balsamic. I took the safe route and went natural. It was pretty, tasty and loved. Continue reading
