Mexican Pasta – Rainy Day Fusion Food

Fusion cuisine is cuisine that combines elements of different culinary traditions.  This explains my actions when I ‘d planned to have grilled hamburgers for dinner and it rained all day.  My P.S. looked at me like I was crazy when I asked if he’d grill while I held an umbrella.  I seriously wanted a grilled hamburger.  His suggestion was to pan fry them.  Ugh.  Not as interesting, for sure. A box of Velveeta was in my fridge. Someone had cut about an inch off one end and put it back in the box, and put it into the fridge. I don’t remember doing it and my P.S. doesn’t do Velveeta. There was mystery Velveeta and after several months I thought it should be used or tossed. I hate to waste anything, including “cheese product”. I shrugged and decided to use it in a pasta dish. Sausage, Cabbage and Noodles

It was a cooler summer day, rare since this year has seemed hotter than usual here up North.  I had cabbage and sausage and wanted a satisfying bowl of German comfort food.  I always assume anything made with noodles, cabbage, sausage, some bread cubes and a lot of butter is German.  It is definitely always comforting!  I’d found this recipe and was finally going to remove it from my ‘food to make’ bucket list.
