One of our favorite go-to meats is the pork shoulder, also called a pork butt. I’m not sure why that is, it seems they’re opposite locations. But, it’s an inexpensive cut that often goes on sale and is ridiculously easy to throw in the crockpot for several hours, mutilate with two forks and eat for a week. It’s comfort meat. I want to squash some rumors.  Hehe.. just being silly.  This time of year I end up with lots of squash from various sources and have to be creative.  I’ve squashed just about everything I can think of, except the rumors!  This soup recipe came to mind one night when I couldn’t sleep.  I picked up my smart phone and went through Pinterest to find some kind of soup recipe that would fit the two kinds of squash I had already roasted in the fridge. Ham Bone Broth Soup

This year around Easter my P.S. (Personal Shopper/ hubby) bought two different hams.  Lover of making bone broth that I am, I used each bone in turn to make a good pot of broth.  Eventually my fridge was full and I wanted to make a big pot of soup with the broth and vegetables.  I didn’t have a plan, I just used what I had in the fridge.  The result was the best soup, ever!  Ham bone broth rocks!
