Quick Pickled Carrots

I’ve always liked carrots. As a kid we’d sneak into a neighbors huge garden, pull a few young carrots, wipe the dirt off with our hands and eat them. At 8, 9, 10 years old I ate a lot of dirt. Pickled Cauliflower

I’ve posted this pickled cauliflower a few years ago but it’s definitely worth a revisit. Have you seen the ridiculous prices on a small jar of pickled cauliflower in the grocery stores? Tsk tsk. It’s so incredibly easy and fast to make. Don’t pay those prices. Save your money for the good things. Scallops or steak!  You can make as little or as much as you wnt in each batch.  I stick to a head of cauliflower at a time.  I can always make it again very quickly. Continue reading

Dill Pickle Dip

Gob and Gert Gherkin

I love dill pickle potato chips!  The bite of vinegar in a crispy chip is a perfect pairing for me.  I also love a crispy dill pickle, whether it be a spear or a little gherkin.  When I worked in an office and had time to spare between clients, I doodled in my computer’s Paint program and designed a gherkin couple, Gob and Gert Gherkin.  I should play with them again soon.  They always made me smile.
