My P.S. (Prefers Sweet potatoes/ hubby) hound this years’s new Thanksgiving recipe. He was reading the Parade insert in our local newspaper and asked what I thought. I thought ‘blog post’, of course! Not a huge fan of sweet potatoes unless there’s bourbon and candied pecans, I was pleased to see there was a good amount of Gruyere in the dish. Ham and Bean Dump Soup

The temperature is down to the 60s and 70s suddenly. From record breaking heat to comfortably cool, it’s fall. Fall doesn’t last long here; winter moves in fast. Snow in October isn’t unusual. Up North we dig out our coats, boots and gloves and shrug. My P.S. (Princely Spouse) and I went to Red Lobster a couple months ago and I discovered they had a side dish option of bourbon mashed sweet potatoes with candied pecans.  Oh my gosh were they good!  I took a picture with my phone to remind myself to work on a recipe.  The dish, particularly the candied pecans, needed to be a more regular dish in our castle!
