My introduction to curry as a seasoning was very recent. We live in a town of 50,000 that doesn’t have much of a variety in our restaurants. I only get to taste curried dishes on trips to a Big City, which does not happen very often. So it was a challenge to look for recipes that used curry powder or paste and test them when I found that my P.S. (Personal Shopper/Hubby) had brought home at least 3 different kinds of curry powder. They were just sitting there in the spice cabinet, calling to someone to use them. I decided it was up to me to put them to use. Or so I thought skeptically. My P.S. (Personal Shopper/hubby) likes to throw meat in my general direction (not literally!) when he wants a particular meal like roast beef or pulled pork. I’m not much of a meat eater when left to create meals on my own. I mean, I do eat meat, but I would rather it be disguised in a casserole or a stir fry or a soup along with lots of vegetables. A handful of granola sprinkled on my morning carton of yogurt definitely makes it worth getting out of bed! I like low-fat yogurt in the morning, usually the kind with fruit mixed in, and not the Greek style. I’m sorry but Greek yogurt is just too much like eating a bowl of sour cream. Gag worthy to me! But even hubby says I’m wrong and eats it regularly, so experiment amongst yourselves and make your own choices when you eat yogurt.
I like almost any fruity yogurt except for lemon or raspberry. So ok, I’m maybe a little picky about my yogurt. But I’m also equally picky about my granola. I’ve bought and tried all kinds of granola, from cheap to pricey, and found I really only like one brand. Nature Valley® has been my favorite for a whole lot of years. Continue reading
