There are so many things a person can make on a Panini press besides grilled sandwiches.  I’ve seen recipes for cakes, puddings, quiches and even pies.  The idea of pizzas sounded fun so I made them one evening for dinner.  I loosely followed a recipe but not close enough to list the blog.  Next time I’ll stick to one recipe.  It could have been much better. This wasn’t my idea first, I have to say quickly. I saw it on a blog and decided that was one smart move. Take imitation crab, cream cheese and a few tweaks to make a filling, then grill it as a sandwich on my Panini press. Oh my!  Two of my favorite foods: crab (albeit imitation) and Panini!  These would be great with a bowl of soup! Continue reading

Living near the Northern border of the U.S. all of my life, I came late to what is called a ‘Cubano’ or Cuban sandwich. I ordered one in a diner a few years ago and thought it was fun to have pickle slices right in the sandwich, instead of on the side. Not to mention the presence of both turkey and ham in the sandwich. And lots of cheese of course. Continue reading
