I forget  about quinoa.  It’s in clear plastic containers in the cupboard but it’s the cupboard where I put the odd things we rarely use:  Jello pudding boxes, Crystal Lite, dried fruit, granola in various forms, pearl barley, pearl tapioca, bags for roasting turkey, Kool Aid, etc.  I was looking for crockpot liners when the container tried to dive into my crockpot below.  It would be my grain of choice today and the final soup of Soup Weeks! My P.S. (Princely Spouse) suggested I make more pumpkin soups, as he laid another pile of cans of pumpkin on me.  I’d just asked him “what is it you crave that we now have a dozen cans of pumpkin?”  Soup was a good answer.  I was thinking more along the lines of pie…  But the subject of soup did remind me I had roasted a butternut squash and froze it to make future soup.  It was time for the future. I must add another chapter to: What To Do With Leftover Pork Roast.  The roasts have been on sale for amazingly low prices (claims my P.S.).  I’ve gotten comfortable with cooking them in the crockpot and producing moist, melt in your mouth pork goodness.  I just need to find new ways to use the leftovers since there are only two of us eating these 4-5 lb roasts!
