I’ve never called this dessert Gooey Bars. My sister Linda gave me the vanilla recipe back in the 80s and it was called Neiman Marcus Bars. I assumed it was sold or served at the famous department store. We didn’t have that store here Up North so it was a guess. My sister Linda gave me the recipe but has forgotten its history. Creamy Pumpkin Pie

I’ve lost track of how many times I’ve dug out the step stool, climbed up to the top shelf of my baking cupboard to look for a can (because who stores the rarely used cans within reach!) and came up empty handed. It’s been over 3 years since I posted my favorite pumpkin bread recipe.  I should call it my best ever recipe as I do my banana bread because it’s the only recipe I ever use to make pumpkin bread.  But I try not to sound like I’m perfect.  I am, but I don’t say it out loud.  heh.  I’m so joking.  Anyway, when I posted pumpkin bread I mentioned I wanted to try to make French toast out of it.  I’m finally getting to that!
